Urinary Tract Infection

Natural d-Mannose Powder

E. coli-Specific Remedy

Most infections of the lower urinary tract (85-90%) are due to a few strains of gut E. coli bacteria. If they get from the gastrointestinal tract, by way of the anus, into the urinary tract, the bladder or the urethra, the body has ways of fighting them off - including the obvious methods of simply flushing them out with the urine.

Unfortunately, these invading bacteria have evolved ways of anchoring themselves to the cells of the urinary tract.

E. coli can take advantage of receptors naturally found on the cells of the mucosal lining of the urinary tract. These receptors are like molecular "docking bays" for substances which the cells need for their normal growth and development.

In fact, pathogenic E. coli bacteria are so sophisticated that when the body detects that cells have been infected and activates the cell suicide program to destroy the bacteria, these bacteria can actually... flee the dying host cell before it is flushed out, and look for... new cells to invade!

Once inside the cell, E. coli can live and reproduce in safety, shielded from many of the body's defensive immune responses.

Natural d-Mannose

In the late 1980s, it was discovered that a small amount of d-mannose - naturally occurring in peaches, apples, berries - is present in the urine normally. Apparently, it is acting as a defensive mechanism against pathogenic bacteria - infectious microorganisms, colloquially known as germs.

When d-mannose is taken as a supplement, much more of the mannose passes through the urinary tract, it strengthens this natural antibacterial defense. Surrounded by high levels of d-mannose, E. coli cannot adhere to the layer that lines the urinary tract, called urothelium.

Supplemental d-mannose acts as a molecular "chaff" to which bacteria bind, preventing them from binding to the bladder cells. This action helps to successfully rid of chronic or acute E. coli infections, after having been subjected to a wide range of potent, side-effect-inducing antibiotics.

The chemical attraction between E. coli bacteria adhesions and d-mannose is their strength - but it also provides a point of vulnerability. If you can interfere with the binding of adhesions to the d-mannose residues in the receptors of your urinary tract cells, then you can also prevent pathogenic E. coli from getting a foothold for adherence and infection.

The "molecular mechanism" of the action of d-mannose on E. coli is scientifically proven. There is no argument at all about it.

The therapeutic value of supplemental d-mannose has been confirmed by considerable circumstantial evidence, combined with common sense and clinical experience.

The feedback is uniformly excellent from urinary tract infection sufferers and their caregivers alike. Tens of thousands of women working with natural medicine-oriented doctors have successfully applied this science to their own bladder infections since the mid-1980s.

Safe and Effective Alternative

For the great majority of E. coli bladder infections supplemental d-mannose offers a safe, natural and effective option - a non-antibiotic remedy with:

  • a simple, ingenious rationale;
  • no known side effects of any kinds (neither gastrointestinal problems, yeast infections, nor resistant bacteria!), unlike virtually any conventional medication and many alternative UTI treatments as well;
  • good tasting (it's not easy to find high-quality, good-tasting supplements these days);
  • suitable for children (because it tastes so good, it's ideally suited for children with bladder infections; children actually enjoy taking it);
  • a great reported success rate of more than 90 percent;
  • effective and safe for pregnant women (if they are susceptible to recurrent bladder infections, they can take D-Mannose as a preventive measure to head off future attacks).

E. coli-Specific Remedy

When faced with a potentially pathogenic germ like E.coli, conventional, pharmaceutically-based medicine typically confronts the problem by throwing the most potent poisons it can find at the bugs, namely: antibiotic drugs.

While there is nothing essentially wrong with killing and destroying harmful, disease-causing bacteria, this approach does have some very serious drawbacks - a disadvantage, actually a problem that renders standard antibiotic treatments less and less acceptable.

Fortunately, antibiotic "bacteria-cide" is not the only possible avenue of attack against E. coli-induced UTIs. Clinical experience have shown that supplemental d-mannose is just as effective at curing bladder infections caused by uropathogenic E. coli as common medicinal/prescription drugs.

Even those who had remained infected after having been subjected to a wide range of potent, side-effect-inducing antibiotics have successfully rid themselves of chronic or acute infections using quality supplemental d-Dannose.

Natural/Non-Synthetic

As not all d-mannose products are created equal - the results vary from "amazing" to "okay”, we decided to offer a specialty complex supplement optimized for best results. Its main UTI benefits can be summarized as follows:

  • It supports healthy, natural urogenital flora (bacteria).
  • It does not affect “friendly” bacteria.
  • It delivers a naturally occurring sugar (mannose) with protective properties.
  • It does not interfere with normal blood sugar regulation which makes it suitable for diabetics.
  • It goes to work in your system quickly.
  • It supports the immune and urinary tract systems.

Description of Ingredients

D-Mannose

This "glyconutrient" has many helpful health benefits as glyconutrients are vital. They are eight types of sugars (known as saccharides) that formulate crucial compounds within the body. Antibodies and digestive enzymes are glycoproteins that assist the body’s cells in communicating with each other, which is highly beneficial to health.*

D-mannose also removes "bad" bacteria by attachment and voiding.*

It is absorbed eight times slower than glucose and, when ingested, is not converted to glycogen or stored in the liver but, rather, goes directly into the blood stream from the kidneys to the bladder. Therefore it does not interfere with blood sugar regulation.*

The E.coli gut bacterium displaced (not: killed) by D-Mannose is responsible for 80-90% of UTIs, whereas standard prescription antibiotic treatment may cause an imbalance in the normal, beneficial flora (bacteria) that prevent pathogen colonization of the gastrointestinal microbiome.*

Cranberry Juice Powder

It naturally contains Malic, Citric and Quinic Acids which are the active ingredients that acidify the urine and keep unwanted material from adhering to the cells that line the bladder wall.*

These acids also promote thorough cleansing of the urinary tract, such as improving urine flow, eliminating toxins and boosting overall function).*

Olive Leaf Powder

It works directly against unwanted materials by supporting the protective cells (phagocytes) to ingest them without suppressing the immune system or damaging the body’s beneficial bacterial flora.*

Additionally, Oleuropein (a polyphenolic compound enriched in olive leaves and oil) supports the immune's system response and aids in detoxification - removing toxic substances from the urinary tract.*

FOS (Fructooligosaccharide) & Fibersol-2

FOS and Fibersol-2 fibers support balanced intestinal microflora - bacteria and other organisms that live inside the intestines. They are very soluble (attract water and turning to gel during digestion) and less dense, therefore mix instantly and do not cause bloating or gas, as opposed to other standard fiber products.*

They have been shown to support proper bowel function, regularity, fecal volume, beneficial intestinal microflora populations, healthy digestive tract. They also support cholesterol, triglyceride and blood sugar levels within normal ranges.*

Lactobacilli*

Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus casei are located in the small intestine and produce lactic acid. Many strains of bacteria from the Lactobacillus family have been shown to support urogenital and vaginal health, regularity, production of the lactase enzymes and protect the gut lining from unwanted materials.

L. acidophilus helps to inhibit some types of detrimental bacteria by:

  • Stimulating the production of endogenous/internal antibiotics (Bacteriocins - ribosomally synthesized peptides or proteinaceous compounds with antimicrobial properties produced by bacterial strains, generally effective in inhibiting the growth of similar or closely related bacterial strains).
  • Lowering bodily pH (lower pH number means stronger acid).
  • Stimulating the production of organic acids such as lactic acid and acetic acid, having essential functions in many cellular processes in the body.
  • Competing with detrimental bacteria for nutrients deconjugation of bile acids (lactobacillus species have the ability to deconjugate bile acids - conjugated with amino acids, glycine and taurine, before being secreted into the bile salts; bile salts are important in solubilizing dietary fats in the watery environment of the small intestine).

L. acidophilus can inhibit such detrimental bacteria as:

  • UroPathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC)
  • H. pylori
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae
  • Listeria monocytogenes
  • Salmonella
  • Shigella dysenteriae
  • Shigella sonnei
  • Staphylococcus aureus

L. acidophilus primarily colonizing the small intestine helps:

  • Alleviate constipation in up to 90% of people afflicted with chronic constipation cure some cases of diarrhea by re-establishing the flora of the intestine eliminate flatulence.
  • Prevent gastric ulcers by inhibiting detrimental bacteria H. pylori implicated in gastric ulcers.
  • Eliminate intestinal parasites.
  • Alleviate some of the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
  • Increase the absorption and bioavailability of dietary iron.
  • Facilitate the production of vitamin K within the intestines.

Substances that interfere with L. acidophilus:

  • Microorganisms such as Candida albicans (detrimental yeasts) may kill L. acidophilus.
  • Pharmaceutical antibiotics (supplemental L. acidophilus can re-establish the endogenous L. acidophilus that are killed by antibiotics; as antibiotics kill acidophilus bacteria, they should be taken at least 2 hours before or after you take supplemental probiotics).
  • Recreational drugs such as alcohol (ethanol) may destroy L. acidophilus* (all drugs have a negative impact on the intestinal/gut microbiome that plays a very important role by helping control digestion and benefiting our immune system, and many other aspects of our health).

PLEASE NOTE: Garlic is known to stimulate the growth of L. acidophilus. Therefore, its function can be enhanced by supplemental garlic.

Bifidobacteria*

Bifidobacterium breve and Bifidobacterium longum are located in the colon and produce acetic acid, making the gut a very inhospitable place for unwanted materials. Bifidobacteria have been shown to promote regularity.

Streptococcus thermophilus*

S. thermophilus is a lactic acid producer lining the gut wall to provide a barrier from unwanted materials. It promotes regularity and produces the lactase enzyme.

Stevia Leaf Extract

Extracts of the South American stevia plant, called steviol glycosides, are up to 300 times sweeter than sugar. They have little aftertaste, zero calories, and no effect on blood sugar. In 2008, after a rigorous review of the scientific evidence, the FDA granted stevia sweeteners GRAS status - an acronym for the phrase Generally Recognized As Safe. It was also approved by the European Union in 2011.

Stevia has been documented to have medical purposes as an antimicrobial, anti-diarrheal, anti-tumor, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory actions. Also, its use is most promising for high blood sugar/insulin resistance and high blood pressure.

Taking it for the first time?

Here's how to get the best results

For 24-Hour Relief

Recommended Dosage

Mix one (5.5 g) scoop in 1/2-1 glass of purified, lukewarm water and drink four (4) to six (6) times per day (every 2 to 3 hours).

Please Note

Even though symptoms are improved within 24 hours, d-Mannose MAX should be continued for 2 to 3 days after the last symptom is gone, just to "make sure."

Comments

By far the most frequent success with d-Mannose MAX has been achieved by the women who have suffered single (non-recurrent) episodes of bladder infection. About 90 percent of the time, bladder infection which is caused by E. coli, will respond to d-Mannose MAX treatment with significant symptoms reduction within 24 hours. In almost 90 percent of such cases, it usually clears the infection in 1 to 3 days.

Preventive Measure

Recommended Dosage

Mix one (5.5 g) scoop in 1/2-1 glass of purified, lukewarm water and drink once (1) or twice (2) a day.

Comments

Women prone to very frequent recurrent bladder infections that are not necessarily related to sexual intercourse can also often benefit from taking d-Mannose MAX preventively. To save expense, some women have been able to "taper down" their dosage and dose frequency.

For “Honeymoon Cystitis"

The rubbing during sex can move bacteria from the genital area and anus first toward the urethra, then toward the bladder triggering an infection.

Frequent, prolonged sex causing cystitis is more common among women in their twenties, but is also seen in older sexually active women.

Recommended Dosage

Mix one (5.5 g) scoop in 1/2-1 glass of purified, lukewarm water and drink 1 hour prior to intercourse.

Comments

It is not uncommon for women to avoid sex because they get a bladder infection nearly "every time" they have intercourse. However, taking d-mannose MAX for UTIs related to sexual intercourse will most likely completely eliminate further E. coli-related infections.

If Your Infection Persists

If your urinary tract infection treated with d-Mannose MAX Powder does not show significant improvement within 24 hours (in about 10 percent of cases), it is likely that the causative pathogenic organism is not E. coli.

Although up to 90 percent of bladder infections are caused by E. coli bacteria, the remaining 10 percent are caused by a variety of other Enterobacteriaceae and Gram-positive pathogens such as:

  • Staphylococcus saprophyticus (5 to 15 percent cases of UTIs),
  • Group B streptococcus (found in the digestive tract, urinary tract, and genital area of adults),
  • Chlamydia trachomatis (one of the most common causes of urethritis),
  • Mycoplasma hominis,
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae,
  • Enterococcus faecalis,
  • Proteus mirabilis,
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa (accounting for approximately 12 percent of all infections, and usually related to urinary tract catheterization, instrumentation or surgery).

Recommendation

Do not just keep going on with d-Mannose MAX Powder in hopes that it will eventually "kick in." Discontinue the use of it and consider taking other supplements.

Please note that an untreated infection may spread into the upper urinary tract, namely, the kidneys, causing serious problems.

Optimized Healing

Although d-Mannose MAX can be successfully taken as a stand-alone, for optimal results, particularly in case of chronic, stubborn UTIs, it should be taken in combination with:

The Results May Vary**

It should also be noted that the results may vary from person, depending on:

  • diagnosis (symptoms, urine tests and bacteria present, the type of UTI: cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis),
  • degree of severity of UTI (ranging from minor to serious),
  • history of antibiotic intake (as this can be a cause of repeated UTIs),
  • structural abnormalities,
  • age,
  • sex,
  • other existing health conditions (such as diabetes mellitus and/or any immunocompromised state).

Besides, about half (50 percent!) of women with symptoms of a urinary tract infection actually have:

  • irritation or inflammation of the urethra (urethritis),
  • vaginitis (inflammation of the vagina resulting in discharge, itching and pain),
  • candidiasis (fungal infection caused by yeasts that belong to the genus Candida),
  • interstitial cystitis / bladder pain syndrome, or
  • sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), such as chlamydia.

Some of these problems may also accompany or lead to UTIs.

Wonderful products!

Just wanted to update you on my journey with your amazing products!

I have been taking the d-Mannose Max Powder for a couple of months without any problems. I have now tapered down to twice a day and will eventually stop to see if all is well without it.

I have had only a few flare ups (symptoms), but very short-lived. When these occurred, I took a few doses of your URIBIOTIC Formula.

I am forever grateful to Mr. Mierzejewski for these wonderful products!

Successful experience

As a paraplegic for almost 14 years, I was almost constantly on antibiotics due to chronic bladder infection. However, being afraid of possible side effects, for many years I was reluctant to consider any natural alternatives.

I was afraid of getting diarrhea or constipation. These are the worst – a real disaster! But after successful experience with d-Mannose MAX, I started looking for other natural means to solve my problem.

And I was pleasantly surprised by lack of any adverse reactions to URIBIOTIC which I introduced to my system very cautiously.

Two weeks later, my urine culture showed NO E. coli. Burning went away in a few days. I’m pleased to report such great results.
