Origanum vulgare, also known as Greek or Mediterranean oregano, has been regarded as one of the most efficacious natural infection fighters. It is a rare wild herb which grows in the mountainous regions of the eastern Mediterranean. The characteristic, very warm smell and slightly bitter, pungent flavor are due to the essential oil which has been renowned for its potent antiseptic properties.
When oregano oil was first tested in 1910, it was described by H. Merindale as “the most powerful plant-derived antiseptic known.” It has been found effective both in killing multiple bacteria (germs) and preventing their growth.
It demonstrated to be 26 times as potent as phenol known for its strong antiseptic properties. (Phenol is also a versatile precursor to a large collection of drugs, most notably aspirin, and many herbicides and pharmaceuticals).
Oregano oil is the “best of the best” active essential oils providing the amazing results in treating infectious diseases (P. Belaiche). It has been considered the closest to an ideal antibacterial agent.
The active ingredient in the essential oil distilled from the leaves of true oregano is carvacrol, or isopropyl-o-cresol – a powerful antiseptic, an antimicrobial agent proved to be many times more effective at killing the pathogenic microorganisms than the standard prescription antibiotics.
Unlike pharmaceutical, chemical medications, carvacrol has been found an effective natural antibiotic against some drug-resistant strains of germs.
Its therapeutic properties are distinguished by its high percentage of carvacrol. That’s why is 1.5x as effective as nystatin (a leading drug for fungal infection) against Candida albicans.
As carvacrol reveals strong inhibition of both E. coli, Proteus and Pseudomonas bacteria, its high amounts make it a very effective remedy for urinary tract infections – in many cases not responding neither to the antibiotics nor to many antibiotic alternatives.
Oil of oregano is recognized as having one of the broadest ranges of antimicrobial effectiveness known among plants. It has been regarded for the following properties:
An extensive research suggests that oil from oregano leaf helps balance microflora colonization in favor of beneficial inhabitants, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract.
When used properly, the health-giving properties of oregano oil can be profound. It offers you a safe and natural option, along with a simple, ingenious rationale, no known side-effects, and a great reported success rate.
Without promoting the growth of drug-resistant strains, oregano oil helps inhibit and/or kill up to 90 different types of detrimental bacteria, fungi, parasites, protozoa, yeasts, and molds, such as:

For optimal results, oil of oregano can be taken simultaneously: both orally (by mouth) and externally (not ingested), that is applied directly to the unbroken skin.
When used topically, and in order to reduce the possibility of allergic reaction, rash and avoid resistance, oregano oil can be applied on your soles (a perfect spot for absorption) for the minimum of 7 consecutive days in the following way:
Please note that regardless of why you are taking oil of oregano, make sure you take at least a week-long break for every two consecutive weeks of its daily use. In short, cycle off one (1) week every two (2) weeks of use.
1) Oral Dosage:
2) Oral + On the Skin Dosages:
For up to 14 consecutive days, massage 3 drops:
Please note that regardless of why you are taking oil of oregano, make sure you take at least a week-long break for every two consecutive weeks of its daily use. In short, cycle off one (1) week every two (2) weeks of use.
It is of the utmost importance in the age of frequent international travel, when food poisoning sickens and/or kills many thousands annually.
In those who suffer from intestinal candidiasis or other intestinal microbial infestation, oregano oil may trigger the yeast “die-off” phenomenon, also known as the Herxheimer Reaction. This is due to a temporary intensification of the intestinal candidiasis symptoms, after which the condition usually improves.
The “die-off” phenomenon appears as if you have the flu, and so is described as “having flu-like symptoms.” They may include fever, feeling feverish, the chills, and having a cough, sore throat, runny nose, muscle or body aches, headache, and fatigue.
Intestinal candidiasis is often provoked by prolonged treatments with broad-spectrum antibiotics as they destroy the indigenous intestinal (gut) microbiota. Formerly called gut flora, it plays an important role in our lives and in the way our bodies function. It is commonly referred to as our hidden “metabolic organ”.
In total, gut microbiota may weigh up to 2 kg. It contains tens of trillions of microorganisms. One third of the intestinal microbiota is common to most people, while two thirds are specific to each one of us.
In other words, the microbiota in your intestine is like an individual identity card or fingerprints.
In the post-antibiotic era, essential oil of wild oregano is a promising alternative. It is known for its characteristic strong smell and sharp, herby flavor. The substance responsible for the “odor” is carvacrol, a monoterpenic phenol isomeric with thymol, also present in many essential oils of the mint family plants (Lamiaceae or Labiatae).
The Lamiaceae family includes such species as savory (Satureja cuneifolia), Mediterranean thyme (Thymbra spicate), conehead thyme, also known as Spanish oregano (Coridothymus capitatus), and Syrian oregano (Origanum syriacum), considered superior to Greek or Mediterranean oregano (Origanum vulgare subsp. hirtum).
It is our working experience that when used as a topical antibacterial agent, carvacrol can penetrate the skin and further inhibit the growth and/or destroy pathogenic microorganisms without going through the digestive system.
Our skin is the largest organ of our body. Since it is porous, it is able to absorb – although not all experts fully agree with it – more than 60 percent of what we put on it.
When applied on the skin for topical effect, oil of oregano is more likely to reach high concentrations, at least locally, and then deliver to some degree a desired antimicrobial effect.
Typically, it takes about 30 minutes for an essential oil to be fully absorbed through the skin. Therefore, if oregano is washed off before 30 minutes, it needs to be reapplied.
For the optimal results, particularly in case of chronic, stubborn UTIs, Oil of Wild Oregano can be taken in combination with:
It should also be noted that the results may vary from person depending on:
Besides, about half of women with symptoms of a UTI actually have:
Some of these conditions may also accompany or lead to UTIs.

I have been quadriplegic for 15 years. About seven years ago, I started to suffer recurrent urinary tract infections to the point where most of the bacteria had become multi-resistant.
My urologist pointed out to me that kidney failure is the biggest killer of people with spinal cord injuries as a result of repeated urinary tract infections which became untreatable as a result of repetitive use of antibiotics.
About two years ago I developed an infection, the bacteria being pseudomonas. Antibiotics did not work and the decision was made to not use any more, live with it and hope it didn’t get into my bloodstream.
I couldn’t accept this, so I researched the Internet once again until I finally found out about Oil of Wild Oregano and Uribiotic Formula. I ordered some, showed my GP who confirmed that there was nothing in it that could possibly cause any harm and to give it a go, which I did.
Within a few weeks the urinary tract infection cleared up.
I have barely had any symptoms since, and when I do I just use the Uribiotic for a couple of days and symptoms clear up. No side effects and no worries about the tablets not working.
I am a skeptic and honestly didn’t think this would work when I tried it, but it does. If I didn’t find out about it, I hate to think where I would be now.
I just wish I knew about it sooner.

I have lived with quadriplegia for decades. Together with Oregano oil, Uribiotic has proven a fast ‘killer’ combination for any UTIs, including a multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.
Thank you.
