Prostate Gland Infection

You Might Have Prostatitis

Need a Second Opinion?

The symptoms of prostate infection can develop quite rapidly - over a matter of weeks, or more slowly - nagging for several months. Although not everyone has symptoms, most men get at least some, especially:

  • Pain or stinging feeling, or burning sensation during urination as sense of fullness in the rectum (dysuria) - one of the hallmark symptoms of prostatitis.
  • Difficulty urinating, such as dribbling or hesitant urination (trouble passing urine).
  • Frequent urination - strong urge to urinate, even when there is only a small amount of urine, particularly at night (nocturia).

It should be noted, however, that some mild cases of prostate infection may disappear spontaneously without any treatment.

All symptoms of prostatitis, though, should be thought of as the warning sings of something going on inside the prostate. They may seem unimportant at first, but they should never be ignored. In fact, they are similar to those of urinary tract infection (UTI). Also, an acute bacterial prostatitis can cause severe symptoms of a bladder infection.

A long-lasting, chronic bacterial prostatitis, on the other hand, can be associated with recurrent bladder infections. Therefore, it is good to know and evaluate your symptoms, because you might want to (or should) talk with your doctor.

(All Answers Strictly Confidential)

The symptoms are sensations or perceptions of changes in health experienced by yourself or someone you know, or hold dear who may be in need for help. As opposed to medical signs, the symptoms are subjective, therefore they cannot be observed by a doctor.

Although this questionnaire does not provide a medical diagnosis, it can be helpful in figuring out the best course of action to address the symptoms. Thanks to it, you will be much better prepared for an eventual doctor’s appointment. This information might also help your doctor determine if you need a urinalysis to detect pathogens in the urine that point to infection, which is not always a routine practice.

Please fill in the five-part questionnaire, answering all questions thoughtfully to the best of your knowledge. Within 12 to 24 hours we will email* you back the results along with brief comments (if necessary) that may help you get your prostate health back on track. The information given, however, is not intended to diagnose, prescribe or replace the advice of a physician or other healthcare professional.

*Confidentiality Assurance: As privacy is one of the most important issues for all of us on the Internet, please rest assured that all your answers in this questionnaire are strictly confidential. We do not share any part of the completed questionnaire with anyone. Also, your email address is safe with us. We will never rent, sell, or exchange your contact information with anyone.
